Late Summer Haze Lands

Nikon · 2026-09-02 · Landscape

Captures the distinctive atmospheric haze of late August and early September, when heat shimmer and humidity soften distant ridgelines and saturate foreground greens and golds. This recipe pushes vibrancy in the greens and yellows of late-summer foliage while preserving the milky, diffused sky typical of hazy late-summer afternoons. Slight positive brightness lifts the veil of haze without blowing highlights, and elevated saturation makes sun-baked fields and tree canopies pop against the washed-out sky. Best used between 10am–4pm on hazy late-summer days shooting valleys, rolling hills, river plains, or layered mountain ridges.
